An intense battle between US and Germany during World War I sends the plane of American pilot captain Steve Trevor off the Themysciran coast. As German soldiers pursue him, Trevor is saved by the Amazon princess Diana and the rest of the tribe. As the battle continues, Diana's life become endangered, prompting Antiope to sacrifice herself for the former's salvation. Furious at the Germans' atrocity, Diana embarks on a journey to Earth with Steve to stop the evil forces lurking in it and save humanity. With the belief that Ares engendered war, she arms herself with the powerful weapon Godkiller, lasso, and armor before leaving Themyscira . Against her mother's orders, Diana and Steve go to great lengths to locate Ares, but their quest takes a dramaticl turn as strong feelings of affection and concern become involved.
