movie facts

Since its first film release in 2001, The Fast and the Furious franchise has featured many memorable cars. The Dodge Charger is an iconic American muscle car. This is a predominant vehicle of choice by protagonist Dominic Toretto. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift had a number of extensively modified cars, but an FD-generation RX-7 stands out, with its Veilside body kit. In Fast 5, a Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport was driven on screen for a few minutes. Only five 1963 Grand Sports were built by Corvette’s chief engineer, Zora Arkus-Duntov, and the ones in the movies are repliaces by Mongoose Motorsports. An obscure choice for Fast & Furious 6 was the Jensen Interceptor, from British firm Jensen, that features a Chrysler V8 power and styling. For Furious 7, when we see Dom and his crew arrive at Abu Dhabi, they featured W Motor Lykan Hypersport, Middle East’s first supercar, selling at $3.4 million, one of the most expensive cars in the world.
