movie facts

Reese Witherspoon, born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon, is one of Hollywood’s acclaimed actresses. She has both box office hits and film awards under her belt. Besides her acting chops, Witherspoon has gone on to set up two production houses. She has humble beginnings, being born in Germany, taking some years of residence before settling in her childhood town of Nashville, Tennessee. Her parents have a regular background – her father is an otolaryngologist, while her mother is a pediatric nurse as well as being a professor of nursing. Prior to booking her breakout role in The Man in the Moon, Reese started off as a model for their family friend’s florist company. Before she committed herself to being a Hollywood actress, she took up studying Literature for some years in Stanford University. Reese is also well-known in her Legally Blonde role of Elle Woods. For the film, she exposed herself to the sorority culture of the University of Southern California. She also kept the costumes that she wore on the film – all 60 of them. Witherspoon is also no stranger to Hollywood pairings. She was previously married to fellow actor Ryan Philippe, producing two children until their separation in 2006. She is now happily married to talent agent Jim Toth, who was pulled over one time under suspicion of drunk-driving, and was the first time that Reese pulled out the old “Do you know my name” Hollywood actor line.
