Captain America: The Winter Soldier returns to Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America, following the events of the first Avengers film. While conducting operations for SHIELD, the defense agency headed up by Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, anew devious force is working in the background. Fury comes under attack by assassins led by the titular villain of the film, the Winter Soldier, a mysterious deadly trained combatant with a metal arm. It's left to Captain America, and other SHIELD agents, including Black Widow, played by Johansson, and Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, to defeat this new threat, which is almost certainly allied with evil force Hydra, as well as discovering the identity of the Winter Soldier.

movie facts

As with all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, The Winter Soldier seeks to continue the stories of the comic book characters that have been established in the previous films, as well as introduce viewers to a number of new ones, heroes and villains alike, many of whom are carried forward to future films as well. The Winter Soldier, played by Sebastian Stan, displays comparable strength to the all-American hero, Captain America. His version in the film sees him enhanced by HYDRA experiments, with his one bionic arm totaling its strength with two of Cap’s arms. His comic book version paints his bionic arm as that which has superhuman strength, while the rest of him is peak human – comparable to being twice more well-trained than the average athlete.
