The original Avengers team consisted of Nick Fury and the intelligence agency S.H.I.E.L.D. through the Avengers Initiative. The current day team Iron Man and War Machine. The unofficial members include Captain America, Black Widow, Rocket Raccoon, Hulk, and Thor Odinson. The character Iron Man, with alter ego Tony Stark has an interesting role in the team and has actually caused the members to disband. Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon, however, appear to still work together in the shadows.

Avengers: Age of Ultron was released in 2015. The superhero film is another production by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film was based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. It is a follow up to the 2012 film 'The Avengers', marking the 11th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film has an amazing cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film was released in May in 3D and IMAX 3D. The reviews were positive, with the film grossing over $1.4 billion dollars in worldwide sales. It has gone on to become the 4th highest grossing film of all time. It was also the second most expensive film ever made as it had a production budget of $365 million. Its sequel, Avengers: Infinity War was released in 2018 and another sequel, Avengers: Endgame is set for release in April of 2019.
