movie facts

Despite A Bad Moms Christmas not being well received by the critics, there is one thing that most everyone can agree on – Christmas is stressful. The pressure of hosting the holidays isn’t an exaggerated fiction on screen – it’s a persistent reality that seems to gain traction every December. Though meant to be a festive season, the atmosphere and corresponding elements of the holiday season brings stress to a number of individuals – even causing heart attacks. Because Christmas arrives when the days are shorter and nights go on longer, people’s moods are affected due to the lack of exposure to sunlight. The wealth of bright Christmas decorations also tends to send mixed signals to the brain, making Christmas lights an unpleasant experience. Family is also a stressor. Polarizing political and social views are usually a major cause of displeasure between family members. The feeling of being boxed in with personal space and privacy at the mercy of visiting family members also contribute to people having negative moods. And, though meant to be enjoyed, the high-calorie food and alcohol cause feelings of bloatedness, hang-overs, and misery.

about the movie

A Bad Moms Christmas, again written and directed by the duo of Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, is the comedy sequel to 2016’s Bad Moms. Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn reprise their roles as the titular “bad moms”, with the company of Emmy-nominated actresses: Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines, and Susan Sarandon. The film, released on November 1, 2017, was met with mixed criticism for the lack of story and raunchy jokes. It still managed to push through the box office sales with $130 million.
