Paul Walker reprises his role as former Los Angeles cop Brian O'Conner, off the force and recently relocated to Miami, where he's currently earning his living by putting his driving skills to the test, participating in illegal street races. After getting busted, the FBI offers to drop the charges and give O'Conner a clean slate if he agrees to come out of retirement and go undercover with an old friend, Roman Pearce (played by Tyrese Gibson), and US Customs agent Monica Fuentes (played by Eva Mendez). movie facts

Two versions of the script were written - the one that eventually became the film, and a second which would have been used if Vin Diesel had agreed to reprise his role as Dominic Toretto. He was offered $25 million, but refused on the grounds that he thought the new script didn't meet the standard set by The Fast and the Furious. Instead he went on to star in The Chronicles of Riddick.

about the movie

2 Fast 2 Furious (also known as Fast & Furious 2 or The Fast and the Furious 2) was a 2003 action thriller directed by John Singleton, and produced by Neal H. Moritz. Being the second installment of the popular The Fast and the Furious franchise, it's the sequel to The Fast and the Furious (released in 2001). Starring are the late Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Eva Mendes, and Cole Hauser. The film currently has an approval rating of 36% on Rotten Tomatoes from 160 reviews, as well as receiving two Razzie Award nominations, one for 'Worst Excuse for an Actual Movie' and another for 'Worst Sequel or Remake'. However, it's often considered a cult classic, even referred to as 'the forgotten Fast and Furious gem', due primarily to the chemistry between buddies Tyrese Gibson and Paul Walker, as well as John Singleton's talented direction.
