The movie focuses on the titular Transformers, robots from the planet Cybertron, and their story is woven into the classic tales of King Arthur and his knights of the round table. We open on the movie to discover that the knights of legend are actually transformers in disguise on Earth, and as the film unfolds, we discover more about the origins of the Transformers as a robot race, and their role as assistants to humankind in wars on Earth throughout history. In the continuing fight between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, and with the Autobot leader Optimus Prime gone, they must delve into this forgotten past of legend to find the source of power with which they can hopefully win the day.

The Transformers film series now spans six films, making it a staple of the action blockbuster genre. Based on the venerable toy franchise from Hasbro, the movies seek to capture the awe of the toys and the popular '80s animated television series that so many fans grew up with. The films are based on the popular Transformers toy franchise from Hasbro and Takara Tomy. The Last Knight was produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Ian Bryce, and Tom DeSanto, with writing from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Ken Nolan, and Akiva Goldsman. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, and Stanley Tucci. Production was handled by Di Bonaventura Pictures with supervision by Hasbro, and distribution by Paramount Pictures, with a reported budget of up to $260 million, making over $605 million in its theatrical run.
