In 1980, the identical triplet brothers Robert Shafran, Eddy Galland and David Kellman find each other by chance. Bobby and Eddie, at the age of 18 both happen to enroll in the Sullivan County College. Eddy had already been attending the college and his resemblance to Bobby was unmistakable. David discovered he was part of a trio when the story of Bobby and Eddy's meeting was featured alongside the photos of the boys. The boys all had questions for the adoption agency. Louise Wise was the largest agency dealing with Jewish families. They came to find that none of the parents knew that the child they adopted had identical siblings. It wasn't until later when the boys began to have interpersonal issues that the idea came that maybe, it was not accidental the boys were raised separately instead of kept together.

movie facts

Triplets are a rare occurrence among humans. They are a form of 'multiple births' where more than one baby is born. There are 2 different genetic situations that can form from multiple births. When a fetus results from more than on zygote the siblings only share 50% of their genetic code, similar to a typical sibling. This results in a fraternal relationship. If the same zygote splits 100% of the genetic makeup is shared, therefore the siblings are called identical twins. Identical twins are always the same sex, except for in the case of Klinefelter syndrome.
