movie facts

The zombies in this film, unlike many other works of the genre, are slow moving and lethargic. In an attempt to explain the decision to portray the zombies in this manner, Simon Pegg quipped to an interviewer that “death is not an energy drink.” The film contains several references to zombie films of the past, including George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. At one point, Ed exclaims “we’re coming to get you, Barbara” in a non-threatening manner, which is a line directly lifted from Romero’s film.
