movie facts

The character of Denzel Washington is Roman J. Israel, Esq., a Los Angeles lawyer who visibly has Aspergers syndrome. His portrayal includes the characteristic tendencies of people affected by Asperger’s, such as: social awkwardness, superior memory, and attention to detail. In reality, people with Asperger’s have difficulty with communication because they understand things literally. They cannot easily identify the other facets of communication like body language or tone of voice. People with Asperger’s are also very orderly. Because they see the unpredictability of the world and usually don’t easily adapt well to sudden changes, they prefer to stick to a strict daily routine.
