The movie focuses on Special Forces operative 'Dutch', played by Schwarzenegger, and his team of elite soldiers, as they, along with CIA agent Dillon, an old friend of Dutch's, attempt to rescue hostages held in Central America by a guerrilla force. Once there though, they find that the local insurgents are far from the biggest concern. An alien being is loose in the area and is hell-bent on hunting down the group of soldiers, with only the dense jungle as cover. As the team gets picked off one by one, it comes down to Dutch and Dillon to band together against this unknown alien antagonist.
