The time is 15 years after World War II. There is an assembly of top-secret Israeli agents. They are traveling to Argentina to find Adolf Eichmann, a Nazi mastermind who was instrumental in the transport logistics that brought the death of millions of innocent Jews. World War II lasted from 1939 to 1945. At the end of the war, the vast majority of the world's countries eventually formed two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. More than a total of 100 million people originating from over 30 different countries were involved. World War II was the deadliest war in history with 50 to 85 million fatalities. The death toll included deaths from massacres, the genocide of the Holocaust, strategic bombing, premeditated death from starvation and disease, and the use of nuclear weapons. The ending of World War II gave birth to the United Nations. It was established in hopes of fostering international cooperation and prevention of future worldwide conflicts. The UN contains countries such as China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Operation Finale was released in 2018. It is an American historical drama film. Chris Weitz took on the role of director, taking from the screenplay written by Matthew Orton. The film features the acting performances of Oscar Isaac, Ben Kingsley, Lior Raz, Mélanie Laurent, Nick Kroll, and Haley Lu Richardson. The film was loosely based on a real story. It had a $20-24 million budget. It gained a ton of positive reviews from test screenings and was expected to do quite well upon release. The final release, however, did not live up to expectations. The film finished at only $17.6 million.
