Mowgli was a human child who was raised by a pack of wolves in the jungles of India. Mowgli is not pleased with the rules of the jungle and under the care of a bear named Baloo and a black panther named Bagheera he becomes accepted as one of the jungle. Still, the tiger Shere Khan is not pleased with the human in his jungle, and another unknown danger lurks deep in the forest.

Joseph Rudyard Kipling was born December 20th, 1865 and passed January 18th, 1936. Kipling worked as a journalist, short story writer, poet and novelist. Kipling was born in India, which had a great influence in his work. One of Kipling's best known works is his fiction work The Jungle Book published in 1894. His other works include 'The Man Who Would Be King' (1888) His 'Mandalay' (1890), 'Gunga Din' (1890), 'The Gods of the Copybook Headings' (1919), 'The White Man's Burden' (1899), and 'If—' (1910) Kipling's works are regarded as some of the most popular in the United Kingdom and have earned him the Noble Prize in Literature.

Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle was released in 2018. This adventure drama film was directed by Andy Serki. The screenplay was by by Callie Kloves, and inspired by stories found in All the Mowgli Stories by Rudyard Kipling. The film features the acting of Rohan Chand, Matthew Rhys, and Freida Pinto. It also features the voice and motion capture performances of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris, and Serkis. The film was orginailly set to be released in October of 2016 by Warner Bros. Pictures, but was delayed until July of 2016 due to setbacks on visual effects and to allow proper spacing between Disney's own production of Jungle Book. The film was released to theaters Nov of 2018, and sold the rights to the film to Netlix, who released it in December of 2018. Critics had mixed reviews who were appreciative of the cast and effects but preferred the Disney adaptation of the film.
