Dr. Sol Harkens, an atheist, has a debate with a Christian leader and wins decisively. Afterward, at a party to celebrate his new book, Harkens drinks voluminously. As he drives home drunk, he accidentally veers off the road and crashes. He 'sees the light' and hallucinates about his son David, who had passed away years ago, telling him that he needs to believe in God. He awakes at the hospital, where his ex-wife is at his side. After recovering, he continues to debate atheism versus Christianity. He makes a spur-of-the-moment decision to be baptized and become a Christian. He then restarts his relationship with his ex-wife, who then is diagnosed with cancer. Harkens goes on Fox News to tell his story. He remarries his ex-wife, who dies in his arms.
