movie facts

Iron Man is both a song and a competition in addition to being an MCU film series. The song, Iron Man, was written and produced by the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The song appeared on the band's 1970 album titled Paranoid. The song later appeared on two separate greatest hits compilations and remained one of the bands top hits for years and years to come. The Iron Man Triathlon is a long-distance race that includes a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.20 km) run, raced in just one day. The races are performed in that exact order and the Iron Man is considered to be the toughest one-day race in the world. The race is coordinated by the World Triathlon Corporation or the WTC. Just for a challenge, an even greater challenge is the Hyperman (3 times the Iron Man distance happening over 3 days), or the decatriathlon (10 times more than the Iron Man distance over 18 days).
