Many of the supporting roles in the movie are voiced by actual NASCAR drivers, including Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Jeff Gordon, and Daniel Suarez along with many others. Cars 3 also drew material from recordings of Paul Newman's own experiences as a race car driver that was made before his death in 2008.
