The film follows the actions of Mark Corley, a Los Angeles police officer, as he and his son, recently released from jail, are abducted along with several others, by an invading alien force. Aboard the alien craft, Mark's son is taken from his, and his brain is removed, placed into another alien creature for study. Teaming up with other survivors on the ship, Mark fights to save his son's life, and the lives of the others. This leads to the crashing of the alien ship and a drastic change of scenery for the group, who now must battle their way through dense jungle to get back to their loved ones, and take down the alien threat before it's too late, for them and the entire human race.

movie facts

Beyond Skyline has been relatively well received by critics and audiences, potentially benefiting from a home release and an R rating, as opposed to the theatrical release and PG13 that the previous film received. While Skyline was largely critically panned and performed poorly at the box office, Beyond Skyline has performed better with a more freeform release format and smaller-scale premier at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. Beyond Skyline better represents the somewhat campy nature of the science fiction film genre.
