The conclusion to the epic series was so highly anticipated that it easily became the highest grossing film of 2019 after its release. Consequently, it became the highest-grossing superhero film of all time and the second highest-grossing film worldwide. Millions of fans flocked the cinema worldwide causing the film to earn $2.3 billion during its first three weeks.
While many felt excitement as they find out how the Avengers saga will end, the majority of the fans expressed how they didn't want spoilers to ruin their experience. Knowing that not all fans will be able to watch the movie immediately, the Russo brothers, together with the cast members, called for a worldwide ban on posting anything about the movie that might give away its story on social media. They even came up with a campaign where actors urged film viewers not to spoil the Endgame. The spoiler ban was then lifted two weeks after the movie's release.
