movie facts

A Quiet Place had been in development for five years before its official release in 2018. It drew inspiration from similar movies such as Alien, No Other Country for Old Men, and In the Bedroom. Produced by Sunday Night and Platinum Dunes on a budget of $17 million, it rapidly made waves in the film industry. It garnered over 340$ million worldwide. It also won great acclaim for its imaginative concept and cinematic elements. The film's use of American Sign Language was also well-received. Since the plot requires the characters to communicate in ASL, filmmakers hired deaf mentor Douglas Ridloff to teach ASL to the cast. Deaf American Actress Simmonds lent a hand in teaching sign language to her fellow actors. A Quiet Place was first shown at the South by Soutwest Film Festival. It was picked out from over 2,000 submissions and earned praise from critics. It entered the threshold of theaters in April 2018 in multiple territories in the USA.
